Our second day in the studio. Very tedious process trying to get the drum sound nice and heavy. Ben was working his ass off trying to get the drums done. He has two more songs to do and he’s good to go. Onward into the woods……
These are some photos from our second online interview. This time it was with Anarchy Radio which is run by ‘indielove.ca’. We went together with The Flatliners and we did the first hour and the Flats went on for the second hour. It was a ton of fun but I still get nervous talking cause I’m so bad at explaining stuff. I feel like an idiot sometimes when I’m put on the spot.
I usually leave my explanations in my songs, explaining them doesn’t always come out how I want them to. The feelings and emotions were there when I wrote the songs. I have a tendency to not care about what the songs mean to the song writer. I love to take in my own thoughts an opinions on the subject. If I know what the song means after the writer explains it, it makes me always come to the conclusion of what he/she said. There’s no more afterthought anymore and I think that kills the song. What does it mean to me? That’s all that should really matter in the end. It’s your emotion your feeling when you hear that song. Think for yourself.

We were at Sleepytown Sound on Sunday recording a 6 song demo with Ryan Mills. Ryan recorded our first EP; I like working with him cause we get stuff done quick and efficiently without losing momentum. We recorded and mixed everything within 5 hours. The fastest job Ryan had ever said he’d done. The demo came out alot better than i expected, especially with me playing the drums, it was a little awkward. I love the ‘Sleepytown’ enviroment. It’s a small studio but very cozy. I never want to leave when I get there. But that’s usually how I am whenever I record stuff. I could stay all night and record if I ever had the option. Most people hate going into the studio and staying long hours, I can’t get enough. Well it’s on to the full length recording……
